The Smith & Wesson Model 59 has an interesting history and is one of the first-ever US-made double-stack handguns to hit the market. Designed off the Model 39 using field research and analysis reports from US Navy SEALS during the Vietnam War, Smith & Wesson created what they thought would be the future handgun of the military. However, it never was adopted, and production ceased. Nonetheless, the Model 59 remains a collectible handgun that is great for self-defense as well. This example is in very good condition! One 14-round magazine is included. Serial number: A248557
